James Phelan is the Chief Financial Officer of The Ratkovich Company. He joined the Company in June of 2001 as a summer intern while earning his Masters in Business Administration from The Anderson School at UCLA. James is responsible for the financing of the Companyâ€™s operations, overseeing the financial analysis of each opportunity, and the placement of debt and equity for each project. He is also responsible for managing the Companyâ€™s acquisition and disposition processes.
Prior to business school, James was a Captain in the United States Marine Corps where he served as the O&MMC Budget Officer for the Third Marine Aircraft Wing. James is a member of ULI and addicted to bringing old, run-down single family homes back to life.
Favorite TRC Project: 5900 Wilshire. Bringing such an iconic building back to life has been a truly gratifying experience.
Favorite City: Los Angeles. Los Angeles is the greatest city in the world. Where else can you experience such a diverse array of people, cultures, and the arts all while living in perfect weather?
Favorite Cause: The Wounded Warrior Project. The Wounded Warrior Project provides assistance to the men and woman in our armed forces who have been injured in the line of duty.
