Wayne Ratkovich has been honored by the Urban Land Institute at its 2002 Fall Meeting in Las Vegas, NV. Ratkovich, President of The Ratkovich Company, was presented with ULI’s prestigious Robert 0’Donnell Award for his outstanding contributions to the organization’s Advisory Services Program.
Ratkovich, a ULI Trustee, has served on eight Advisory Services panels since 1984, chairing six of them. Panels of note include a strategy for saving Navy Pier in Chicago, leading to its transformation into a prime entertainment destination; an area-wide plan for Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta after the 1996 Olympics; providing a plan for Washington DC’s historic Southwest: neighborhood following the move-out of the EPA from a one million sq. ft. office building; and his most recent effort, the chairing of a ULI Advisory panel devoted to finding creative solutions for the redevelopment of the Fairmount Park neighborhood of central Philadelphia.
Ratkovich is associated with the revitalization of many of the city’s signature urban structures. These include The Wiltern Theatre, The Pellisser Building, The Fine Arts Building and the Oviatt Building, to name but a few. Currently his company is in the process of re-positioning The Alhambra, a 45-acre, one million square foot office campus in the city of Alhambra.
