Oviatt Building

The Oviatt Building, The Ratkovich Company’s initial historic rehabilitation project, is a 100,000 square foot, 13-story building. Originally built in 1928, the Oviatt underwent an extensive renovation program restoring the building to its original Art Deco splendor. The ground floor was home for 17 years to one of Los Angeles’ most elegant restaurants, The Rex, Il Ristorante. The space is now occupied by Cicada, another of LA’s premier dining establishments. The Oviatt Building is a cultural and historic monument of the City of Los Angeles and is listed on the Nation Register of Historic Places.
